OPSIM 5.4 Released
19/08/2026
The download for OPSIM 5.4 is now available to all current users. This release helps clarify the use of the different metocean data block modes, allows for quickly loading assets from Excel/CSV and expands states to many more areas of the program.
We have renamed some of the simulation modes of the Metocean Data block to help clarify what they do, and also added some explanatory text within the configuration window. Note that iterative simulation is now a mode in this drop-down, and not a separate tickbox.
The other key improvement here is the expansion of states beyond the existing state machine to now also include scenario, custom and asset properties. In addition, you can pre-propulate an asset store with data loaded from Excel or CSV.
A typical workflow might therefore be as follows.
- You input your numerical and state values for each asset in Excel.
- You add an asset block to the model and define the properties you will be using.
- You ask the asset block to create some initial seed data from the spreadsheet.
- You can then build your model, working not only with the existing numerical properties, but also the new state properties, which increase readability and maintainability of the model.
The following are the changes as listed in the software's change log:
- Changed iterative metocean data option - this is now an option in the drop-down list of modes, and not a separate tickbox.
- Added support for 'State' custom properties, scenario properties & asset properties, so a particular option or configuration can be expressed with a textual name and not just a numerical value.
- Added support in the Change State task list action and COERCE expression operand to allow for the state value to be assigned from an existing state via a connection, and not just as a fixed manually-input value.
- Added support to the Asset block to automatically create an asset store named 'Seed Data' from data loaded from an external file (Excel or CSV).
- Added some additional information to the simulation progress window during iterative simulation.
- Bugfix for reporting order not always respecting the manually selected order.
- Workaround for report viewer broken by Microsoft update in .NET 10.0.11.
